Basecamp was designed by experienced PA educators to develop clinical thinking, not
simply provide answers. Instead of giving you information immediately, it guides you
through questions, hints, and progressively deeper reasoning so you build lasting
understanding.
The goal isn’t to make learning easier, it is to make learning more effective.
-
Basecamp was created specifically for incoming clinical students who want to build
confidence before classes begin.
Whether you’ve been out of school for several years or recently graduated, the program
helps you refresh foundational concepts while developing the thinking skills you’ll need throughout PA school.

ChatGPT is excellent for finding information.
Basecamp is designed to help you learn that information.
Instead of immediately explaining concepts, it challenges you to reason through problems, identify misconceptions, and build deeper understanding. Educational research consistently shows that active retrieval, guided questioning, and elaboration lead to stronger learning than simply reading explanations.
-
As you work through the program, you’ll receive feedback on different aspects of your understanding, including:
Recognition
Definition
Mechanistic reasoning
Application
Integration of concepts
Your progress reflects how you think through problems, not simply whether you arrived at the correct answer.

That’s expected.
Learning occurs when you’re challenged just beyond what you currently know.
Basecamp provides hints, prompts, and guided questioning to help you move forward without simply giving away the answer.
Productive struggle is part of the design.

Every year, students tell us the biggest challenge isn’t intelligence, it’s adapting to the pace and volume of information.
Beginning before classes start allows you to develop effective learning strategies, review foundational concepts, and enter your first semester with greater confidence.
